The Run for Rescue event encourages students, community members, corporate employees and families to make a difference through fundraising and volunteerism to improve the quality of life for all. As tradition has it, the Run for Rescue event will again focus on dual causes, one local and one internationally organized.
Community Giving
Opening doors to the world...combatting poverty in rural communities
The African Village Project focuses on two small rural villages: Utha and Dixie. So far it has assisted in building two nursery schools, providing eye glasses to the elderly and blankets to the needy. This year's pledges will further develop the two community centers which focus on Adult education.
Many Thanks to Last year's Participants
In 2008, more than 75 walkers and runners helped us make our second Run for Rescue event a success. As part of the growing community of service, people like you helped us push our Run for Rescue fundraising effort over $6000. Thank you for your dedication to the causes!
Run for Rescue members are composed of the dedicated and community minded members of The Rotary Club of Vancouver Sunrise and Axis Insurance Managers Inc.
